The 2022 edition of the contest saw thousands of entries flood in from 45 countries across six continents, but one picture proved the clear winner for the judges, earning German photographer Jens Cullmann the title of World Nature Photographer of the Year and the £834 ($1,000) grand prize. The annual World Nature Photography Awards (WNPAs) was founded on the belief that 'photography can influence people to see the world from a different perspective and change their own habits for the good of the planet'. The 2023 awards are now open for entry to all photographers who think they have what it takes to be the best. The competition has 14 categories that explore wildlife and the natural world.
